Architecture is not just about designing a magnificent masterpiece, but using its influences toward the site to reduce environmental impacts and coorperate with the surrounding.

In this module, we focused how to enhance the thermal comfort in the building by using basic building design and passive design strategies. Various ways of design methods were introduced and to be learnt, such as shading devices, ventilation methods, cooling strategies as well as physics of heat.

The project of case studies provided a great opportunity for us to get familiar with different passive design through site visiting to green buildings in Singapore and Malaysia. A lot of study and researching were carried out in this project, and all these efforts have given us a tresured knowledge of few topics, such as the importance of site analysis, Ecotect simulation, climate studies and more.
