POPSICLE STICK SKELETAL TOWER
Contol forces would be an advantages for builders and designers to enhance building stability and buildability. This module as a further learning of Building Construction 1, we have been taught how does basic construction design works with forces to ensure safety factors when we design and erect a sturucture. 3 basic building consturctions were introduced through lectures and projects, which let us understand fundamental theories of constuction in each practical exercise and discussion.
In project 1, we were required to constrcut a popsicle stick tower with maximum 100 popsicle sticks used, and the tower have to be more than 30cm tall, as light as possible as well as withstand more loads from the top as much as it can to increase the efficiency of the tower.
Throughout the process, we have learnt and understood how does skeletal structure work and the functions of important components and parts in the structure, such as various types of bracing, structure joints and connection methods as well.

In second project, the study area were changed to solid construction and surface construction. By mimicking real on site construction and making it into a smaller scale model, we are able to recognize and differentiate the construction methods and its application.
